Just like moving out, break out those snacks and drinks. Make sure that the phone is installed just in case of an emergency. Make sure to have lunch or dinner planned out, and be sure to eat something light. Emotions will run high this day and when combined with and all of the activity can cause an up-set stomach.
Keep the First Aid Kit handy.
- Check your belongings carefully and make sure that inventory and paperwork match.
- Note any damaged items or crushed boxes.
- Be prepared to pay driver before your possession are unloaded.
- Supervise unloading and unpacking.
- Arrive before the movers,
- Clear the paths to each room
- Unpack your car.
- Review your floor plan
- Check to ensure utilities are connected and follow up
- Confine pets to out of the way room or prearrange someone to watch them.
